ulje na dasci, 72.5 x 58 cm, signed at the bottom left, in red, "V. Kirin"

Research information

In the first half of the 1930s, Kirin worked on a series of illustrations dedicated to significant coastal cities, painting Split, Trogir, Šibenik, and Senj. This picture was most likely created after one of the visits to Senj, around 1933, during one of the most productive years of Kirin's career.

Vladimir Kirin comes to Senj in 1933 at the invitation of Milutin Cihlar Nehajev. On that occasion, three famous city views were created, which were later included in the graphic map "Croatian Coast" published in 1942 in Zagreb.
