102. "Synopsis", by Athanasius the Great, work printed during the time of Nicolae Caragea, Râmnic, 1783, originates from the Murnu family of artists collection

A religious work containing an abbreviated version of the biblical text, printed under the patronage of Nicolae Constantin Caragea, the lord of the Romanian Country, with the printing costs being supported by Filaret, the bishop of Râmnic. It is the first edition of the text in the Romanian language. The volume was owned by Ion Lucian Murnu, a Romanian sculptor and painter, it was purchased (probably) from the Bucharest antique dealer Marcu Pollack. The book appeared in Râmnic, at the Episcopal printing house, among those involved in the printing were the typographer Dimitrie Mihai Popovici and the engraver Constantine the Deacon. Authentic piece, important for the history of old Romanian printing at the end of the 18th century, it contains [4] f. + f. 1-60, 64-123 f., pages 61-63 are missing. The binding, of a modern design, is made of cardboard covered with paper; the spine is leather. On the spine are decorative braids with a floral design that frames the title of the book.
