Marble seated act of a young girl by Frano Kršinić, carefully chiseled in a typical and instantly recognizable pose of master's bathers, originates from the mid 20s of the last century. It is a classic example of Kršinić's intimate creation characterized by widely known lyrical expression. The sculptor's dedication to the creative and harmony of shape manifests in every detail, from harmonious composition to subtle modeling, which gives this his sculpture exceptional softness, although it is executed in hard stone. It is not out of place to mention that it is a few centimeters higher, and compositionally very similar to the master's marble "Bather" exhibited in the setup of the National Museum of Modern Art in Zagreb. Frano Kršinić, a descendant of the stonecutter's family from Lumbarda, has remained a respected and very popular protagonist of Croatian classical sculptural art and modern reduced sculptural figuration, which are characterized by purified forms, tense volumes and stylized poetic expression that permeates all his works. Close to the native artistic heritage and the Mediterranean spiritual space, with his models, acts and maternal themes, Frano Kršinić has gained considerable prestige in public. During his creative lifetime, he prepared a series of solo exhibitions, and as a professor of the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts (1924 - 1967), he educated generations of sculptors, held the duties of the rector of the Academy twice and for more than two decades he led the postgraduate master's workshop in which today's leading protagonists of contemporary Croatian sculptural production grew up.
