Valeriu Neaga was one of the organizers of the maximaphily movement in Romania, a passionate collector and researcher in the field, elected President of the Romanian Society of Thematic Philately and Maximaphily. The pieces of the set represent the plaques and the medals obtained by the collector in various competitions in the field, others that were part of his collection, or which were issued in his honour.
