The Treaty of Adrianople signed in 1829 confirmed the defeat of the Ottoman Empire by the Russian Empire. A special annex was dedicated to the Romanian Principalities. The treaty imposed Russian protectorate over them, abolished the Ottoman trade monopoly, and paved the way for the introduction of Organic Regulations in Iași and Bucharest. On the first page of the copy there is a stamped ex-libris Dimitrie A. Sturdza. The binding is new.
