Đuro Seder (Zagreb, 1927 – Zagreb, 2022) was a Croatian painter and academician. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in Antun Mejzdić's class, where he later taught and gained the title of Emeritus Professor. For a while, he also worked as a technical editor and graphic designer for several magazines, and he illustrated children's books and published poetry. His earliest works were under the influence of Professor M. Tartaglia. While he was a member of the art group Gorgona, he painted abstract, non-figurative, later also monochrome pasty color strokes. In the 1970s, he returned color to his canvases with free brush movements. In the nineties, he began painting biblical motifs and also created church stained glass windows. The oil painting "Conversation" falls into the coloristic phase of creation and is characteristic due to dynamic brush movements and thick layers of intense colors. The scene, although showing a close-up of the heads of two people, is extremely dynamic and full of emotion. The painting is signed in the bottom left corner.
