Great Masters of Romanian Art, emblematic masterpieces and historical collections reunite to celebrate the anniversary of 500 benchmark-auctions which took place on the Romanian art market. Discover works of art signed by national painter Nicolae Grigorescu: a version of his work "Elisabeta Doamna" ("Lady Elisabeth"), a representation of his favourite theme, the oxen drawn carriage, but also a premiere - the innocent representation of a resting cat. Maestro Nicolae Tonitza is always present, with the themes which brought him to fame, with the innocence of childhood, but also an absolute rarity - "Circus World". Among the most loved artists who give life to portrait painting, we encounter Ștefan Dimitrescu, Iosif Iser, Nicolae Vermont or George Demetrescu Mirea. Enter Horia Bernea's artistic universe, set foot in his emblematic gardens, and discover a 1930s work by Alexandru Ciucurencu, or discover Camil Ressu's inspiration in Vlaici. You will also discover a first appearance in a Romanian auction: "The Kiss" by Auguste Rodin, originating from the collection of Lieutenant Nicolae Ionescu, accompanied by the Auguste Rodin Committee expertise, but also a fine sculpture selection consisting of works by Ion Jalea, Oscar Han or Milița Petrașcu.
