Superman was born from and within the urban pop culture, manifested through comic strips, movies, TV shows or radio programs. Starting with the ideas of Joseph Campbell stated in the book "The Hero with A Thousand Faces", we can affirm that Superman's character goes through all the stages that build the myth of the hero. His story addresses issues of politics, morality, identity and social equality. In turn, Daniel Peretti sees in the Man of Steel a model of behavior, a means of expressing and manifesting individual identity, as well as a convergence point for the disparate members of a community.
