The lot is illustrated in the album "Broderii turcești (Turkish Embroidery)", National Romanian Museum of Art, Bucharest, 1997, at page 35.

PROVENANCE

The lot is part of the collection of Romanian diplomat Vasile Stoica, which the National Museum of Art of Romania seized in 1977, inv. 23/83, and which, following a long series of lawsuits after the fall of the communist regime, was given back to the diplomat's heirs, during 2009. The lot is included in the National Mobile Cultural Heritage, by Order no. 2045 dated 29.01.2010, of the Minister of Culture.U33
