This elegant output of Palladio's five orders quart was simultaneously published by Pasinelli alongside his monumental 8-volume folio edition of Palladio's "The Four Books of Architecture." The title page engraving is signed by Costa who probably also was responsible for the architectural engravings inside the book. Costa was an architect, painter of architectural perspectives and professor of civil and military architecture at the Academy in Venice, as well as an active scenographer. He is known for his work "The delights of the Brenta River", published in Venice, 1750-1756. The book was printed by Angiolo Pasinelli and discusses the five orders of architecture. The page numbering is deficient, the book is not bound after page 31, then comes page 37, and after page 40, which also ends this issue of the book, follows pages 33 to 36. The engravings represent the capitals of the Greek architectural styles (Ionic, Doric and Corinthian and also the Tuscan style).
