Damaschin Bojincă (1802-1869) was a Transylvanian Romanian intellectual of Enlightenment formation, professor of law at the Mihăileană Academy in Iași, editor in 1833 of the first scientific edition of the Calimachus Code and Minister of Justice during the reign of Alexandru Ioan Cuza. A supporter of the radical Latinist theory relating to the formation of the Romanian people and the Romanian language, Bojincă published this work about the history of Romanians, a personal reinterpretation after Western authors. The connection of the two co-related volumes is new.
