The French geographer and cartographer Alain Manesson Mallet (1630-1706) published in Paris in 1683 his work referring to the "Description of the Universe" which includes the piece in question. The territory north of the Danube (Dacia) and that south of the river (Thrace) are represented in succession. Copper engraving.
