The coin issues attributed to the reign of Bogdan II fall within the standard imposed during the time of Alexandru cel Bun, namely "half groschen", "groschen" and "double groschen", but with specific heraldic representations. Bogdan II took the throne of Moldavia by driving away Alexandru II. As a result of intrigues by Petru Aron, Bogdan II was killed in Reuseni. Here, between 1503-1504, his son, Ștefan cel Mare, built a church.
