Anton Pann (1796-1854) was a multifaceted creator, difficult to encompass in just one category. Poet, author and professor of psaltic music, folklorist, editor and typographer, he published many works, not all preserved to this day. The present work, with the complete title "The Repentance of the Meticulous Man or Dialogue between Soul and Body and Various Useful Bodily and Soulful Advice", was printed in his Bucharest typography in two editions, the first in 1849, to which the present copy belongs, and the second in 1854. With a moralizing character, it enjoyed success in its time. The binding of the copy is new.
