In 1634, in Paris, Dutch engraver, editor and numismatist Jacob (Jacques) de Bie (1581-1640) publishes the first edition of the history of the great French aristocratic families, illustrated through medals. The work was dedicated to Cardinal and Duke of Richelieu. The specimen has a 20th Century binding. Preservation status: the first page represents an addition consisting of a contemporary reproduction.
