The obverse of the medal shows the effigy of Ion Gheorghe Duca, oriented to the right, the signature of the engraver Emil Becker and the legend in exergue "Prime Minister Ion G. Duca / 20 Dec. 1879 - 29 Dec. 1933", while its reverse depicts a wreath made of two, laurel and oak, branches placed under the legend "National liberal party / pious/ and eternal memory/ of the president/ council of ministers/ Ion G. Duca/ fell heroically in the service of the country/ in Sinaia Station on Dec. 29, 1933/ the sacrifice for his love for/ nation, king and country". A significant politician of the National Liberal Party, Ion Gheorghe Duca was assassinated by the legionary group of the Nicadors, because of the measures taken against the Movement by Duca, as Prime Minister.
