The French edition of the famous work of the humanist ruler Dimitrie Cantemir followed the English and German editions. Text on two columns, with the preservation of a stamped ex-libris, unidentified, probably personal, on the title page. The binding is original, period, made of cardboard clad in leather. The spine of the two volumes shows signs of wear over time. The interior is well-preserved.
