Research information

The work is accompanied by an expert opinion by Igor Zidić. The work is notated with an author's note. The note contains reinterpreted ideas from the French opera "L'Éclair", which premiered in 1835. During his stay in Paris in the 1880s, Bukovac probably had the opportunity to watch the opera, which was still being performed. "Our best friend is hope, it is the light [...]. Without hope in the future / It's better to die without hope.").
