Obverse: + MONE ALEXANDRI; inner circle the coat of arms of Moldova: aurochs head with a star between the horns with uneven rays upwards, flanked to the right by a heraldic rose with five petals and to the left by a crescent. Reverse: + WD MOLDAVIENSIS; pearled inner circle: vertically split shield; in the first field three beams, in the second field five lily flowers; the shield is topped by an aurochs head; to the left of the shield a seal; pearled outer circle. The reign of Alexander the Good was marked by stability, peace and development in all areas. He continued the process of unifying the country, starting with the colonization and valuation of the Prut-Dniester region, and strongly boosted the economy, by granting the first trade privilege in Moldova (offered to the Lviv people). A skilled diplomat, he managed to counteract the expansionist intentions of Poland and Hungary, provided in the Treaty of Lublau (1412), and Moldova participated for the first time in international meetings (Talks of Lutsk from 1429). Alexander the Good resolved the conflict with the Patriarchate of Constantinople, ensuring the autonomy of the Metropolitanate of Moldova and the recognition of the canonicity of Metropolitan Joseph.
