Opis
Alexandrin Damascan’s digital works suggest an escape from the ordinary into a parallel universe, which, however, creates a certain state of familiarity, by including some elements specific for the culture of the 80s and 90s, but where technology is dominant. The concept of an alternative reality emerged even before the form expressed in terms of physics, as early as the Antiquity, in mythological histories or, more recently, in fanciful writings, such as Jorge Luis Borges’ book, "The Garden of Forking Paths" (1941). Currently, this quantum mechanics concept is also taken over in the artistic field, as digital art can provide phantasies with a visual expression.
