Elisaveta Konsulova-Vazova's artworks have a deep and clearly exprerssed European influences. She is one of the first Bulgarian artists who, after graduating from the newly opened State Painting School under Yaroslav Veshin, specialized in Munich at the Academy of the Society of Women Artists, under Prof. Heinrich Knir (1862-1944). Her stay in Munich opened new horizons for Konsulova and exposed her to the work of many European authors. Elisaveta Konsulova-Vazova works mainly in the portrait and still life genres. She likes to work with light - a concept that associated with the impressionists. A significant period for the artist, during which she will reach her artistic potential will be during her stay in Prague in the years 1927 - 1933. In this stage of her life she will be creating some of the most picturesque and impressionistic portraits of her daughters Elka and Binka Vazovi, the double portrait of the singer Hristina Morfova and Lyudmila Prokopova, as well as the rich collection of still lifes with flowers, which are also a preferred genre of Konsulova. The flowers in Elisaveta Konsulova-Vazova's still lifes, although detached, have rich color, light and life. During her stay in Czechoslovakia, Elisaveta held an exhibition in Prague in 1931, and in Pilsen and Bratislava in 1932 and her artworks were well received and highly appreciated by the Czechoslovak public and critics. Private collectors as well as the State Museum in Bratislava will buy her paintings, which is another proof of the appreciation of her work by the public, as well as the European exposure during her early years.
