The artwork is drawn in the author's characteristic composition - a lady's portrait in profile to the left, located along the entire vertical of the canvas. The woman portrayed distinguishes itself by beautiful classic features that speak of a strong-willed character, with dark eyes and prominent cheekbones. The hair is light brown, gathered in a bun typical of the fashion of the 60s, and it is dressed in a brown coat. The blue collar matches the blue earrings and the blue background. The signature is placed lower left in black ink, which is usual practice for the author. The painting is characteristic of the mature phase of the work of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev and more specifically to his works from the 60s and 70s. Portraiture and figural composition are his favourites genres. During this period, the author created a series of portraits of Bulgarian artists, actors and relatives who are distinguished by a subtle skill to capture the character of a del and brilliant sense of humor. The formal and stylistic features as well as the overall impact of the work refers it to the highest achievements in portraiture genre in his work. The world of the village, working life, national holidays and rituals, folklore and customs are main themes in the artist's work. Staged and symptomatic for the first creative period of the artist are pastoral scenes, imbued with deep respect for rural life, filled with classical completion of form, influenced by the Northern Renaissance. In the second period, the artist enriched the content side of his creativity and unleashes his amazing imagination. The primal force of reality, colored and mixed with the wonderful, the fantastic and the paradoxical are entering as symbols in his paintings. During his mature creative period, which is particularly fruitful, the artist creates numerous works charged with dramatic power and expression that attract with their unusual vision and fun, with its strange metaphorical or grotesque images loaded with symbolic meaning.
