Omer Mujadžić (Bosanska Gradiška, 1903 – Zagreb, 1991) graduated from the Zagreb Academy in the class of Lj. Babić, then honed his talent in Paris, drawing inspiration from the Louvre. His oeuvre is dominated by intimate portraits, self-portraits, female nudes, and still lifes. As a member of the Zemlja group, he accepts and displays engaged art, depicting nightlife, child labor, peasants, and workers. In the depicted painting, we see a dynamic circus scene with a horseback rider, surrounded by performers and audience. The warm tones of the arena and lively composition create an impression of movement and excitement. This motif perfectly demonstrates Mujadžić's ability to capture the atmosphere and human presence in a moment.
