PROVENANCE
Collection of Dušan Čalić (1918 - 1993); Dušan Čalić was an influential economist and politician of the 20th century, whose career was synonymous with the post-war and communist period in Yugoslavia. A member of SKOJ and KPJ from his teenage years (1933, 1939), Čalić rose through the ranks after the Second World War, becoming an important state figure - Minister of Trade, State Secretary for Industry and Economy, State and Republican representative, ambassador of SFRJ to Hungary (1963-67) and a member of the Council of the Federation (1967-89). Along with his political career, he was a successful economist, teacher, and writer, dedicating his life to the development of the social and economic status of Croatia.
