oil on cardboard, 48.5 x 59.5 cm, 59,5x48,5, signed lower right, in black, "P. Iorgulescu Yor"

In the mid-20s, Petre Iorgulescu-Yor presented himself in front of his peers with an artistic product rallied to a manner that empathised with French modernism, which was very common at the time in many young Romanian artists. We encounter an eclectic, yet striking product, and we recognise in Iorgulescu-Yor's creation in the 1920s a rapprochement to local subjects, depicted in a modern spirit. This brought him his recognition in 1928 when he was awarded the National Prize at the Official Salon, which definitively set Yor at the head of his generation.
