This official image of communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu started a great scandal at the time. The photographic portrait only allowed for one ear to be seen. The Romanian’s urban folklore immediately criticized the situation, and the dictator was named "the one half-gone", causing general jest. The fearsome Security structure of the regime immediately reacted and informed Ceaușescu. He had the image changed, by adding a second ear. The first version of this picture was withdrawn from the public space and it was replaced with the changed version.
