This aircraft, with registration number YR-BRI, is the last ROMBAC 1-11 ever built, and had its first flight in 1989. It was a presidential aircraft during the first terms of Ion Iliescu and retains the role-specific furnishing. ROMBAC 1-11 (or Rombac One-Eleven) is the first jet engine commercial aircraft produced in Romania. It was built at the Bucharest Aircraft Company, under the license of the English short-haul, narrow body aircraft BAC 1-11, an airplane designed in the early ’60s and produced between 1963-1982 by the British Aircraft Corporation. The first aircraft (YR-BRA) was completed in August 1982 and was presented to the Romanian press and officials on August 27, 1982. The first official flight to present this aircraft to the state leadership was performed on September 20, 1982, at Băneasa Airport . The inaugural flight with passengers of the ROMBAC 1-11 plane took place on January 28, 1983, on the Bucharest-Timișoara route, and the first international flight of this aircraft was performed on March 23, 1983 on the Bucharest-London route. Before 1989, the Bucharest Aircraft Company, now Romaero Băneasa, built 9 aircrafts of this type and it was the only commercial jet engine aircraft in communist Europe, except the USSR. Due to its extreme rarity and significance for the technical history of Romania, the plane was registered under the treasure category in the mobile national cultural heritage, by Order of the Minister of Culture no. 2609 / 11.02.2021, benefiting from the special legal regime provided by Law no. 182/2000 for the protection of the mobile national cultural heritage. The sale is classified as a liquidation with the plane being put up for auction as part of the patrimonial liquidation of the former state enterprise Romavia. The liquidation sale of the aircraft is carried out by an economic operator authorized by the Ministry of Culture, due to the rank of the lot classified as mobile technical cultural property within the national mobile cultural patrimony, under the conditions of Law no. 182/2000 and the provisions of the Bidding Regulation (especially art. 25). The persons interested in participating in the auction can purchase electronic versions of the following informative documents: the ranking order and the expertise report, by requesting them at [email protected], M: +40728054340. Description

engine: two Rolls-Royce Spey Mk 512-14DW dual-flow turbofans capable of a thrust of 6,000 kgf, maximum weight: 47,400 kgf, top speed with 119 passengers: 870 km/h, range: 3,500 km Main construction materials are duralumin and special steels. The all-metal structure of the aircraft is processed through aluminium alloys with trade names (old and new) L72 / 2014 and L73 / 2024, delivered in the form of sheet metal, plates and bars. Metal sheets have been processed mainly to become shells by stretching, specific to the ruled areas of the fuselage (front and rear) or by precision rolling specific to the unruled areas (central fuselage). Also, duralumin sheets are made for the upper / lower side wing and left / right covers of the flight control surfaces (flaps, ailerons, aerodynamic brakes, stabilizer, depth rudder, drift, steering), door covers and landing gear hatches. Duralumin plates become integrated shells (built-in strips) upper / lower side wings, by milling and structural parts of assembly and completion. Duralumin bars become frames of the central fuselage, by forming and stretching, followed by relief / contour milling on CNC machines.
