A clock with a golden chain worked with filigree by the German jeweller Paul Telge. The pin has an inscription, made with diamonds, of the text "Waldgesang", The Song of the Forest. The piece opens like a flower making visible three enamel boards on which Orpheus, David and a Nymph are painted. Under each board the name of the represented character is inscribed with rose cut diamonds. An "Eye of God" shaped clock, with white dial, decorated in the guilloché technique, with Arab numbers, with manual winding. The first queen of Romania, Elizabeth I (1843-1916) born as Princess Elizabeth of Wied, was a patron of the arts, founder of several charitable institutions, poet, essayist and writer. Under the pen name Carmen Sylva, the Latin for "Song of the Forest", Queen Elizabeth will publish over one thousand poems, short stories, dramas, four novels and fairy tales for children. Franz Carl Paul Telge (1840-1909), a famous German goldsmith, owner of the shop "Moderne und Antike kunstobjekte" in Berlin, a supplier of the Royal Family of Romania during King Carol I and Queen Maria.
