Nicodim Munteanu was the second patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church (1939-1948). Constantin C. Giurescu (1901-1977) was one of the great historians of the country, professor, academician, diplomat and politician (member of the Gheorghe Brătianu National Liberal Party). He established the Institute of National History (1941) and "Revista istorică română" (1931). After the instauration of the Carlist regime he is appointed a royal resident of the Lower Danube Land (February 1939), Secretary of State in charge of the organisation of the National Renaissance Front (September 1939 - March 1940), Minister of National Propaganda (March-June 1940), Minister of Religion and Arts (June-July 1940).
