One of the characteristics of Constantin Piliuță's work was his creation of portraits, where in addition to those dedicated to important personalities of Romanian culture such as "Tudor Arghezi" or "Constantin Stroescu", he also focused on his own representation over time. The present work is part of his series of works dedicated to this theme, a work completed in 1995 that reveals the depiction of a pair of dancers on a stage, under the spotlight. Piliuță manages to capture unique facial expressions or a body language only known to him, the moving silhouettes and gestures of the two, in a specific brushstroke. The pair of dancers are captured during their performance on stage, in dance costumes, with focused and concentrated expressions for the correct execution of the next dance step. Their faces are not recognizable, leaving it to the viewer's imagination to decipher who the two characters are. The coloration Piliuță takes in the work is a darker one, in shades of beige, white and brown, but at the same time, the artist is careful to create a light zone on the work, specifically in the lower area of it, through the careful contrast of the dark shades with the prominent white of the costume illuminating the entire work.
