In Nicolae Enea's work, the 1930s are dedicated to the in-depth study of human anatomy and facial characteristics. We will now encounter numerous portraits, nudes, as well as views from the artist's journeys. However, imposing will be the cycle dedicated to his wife, Elvira, most often caught with her body bare, lying on the couch or sitting in the chair. But portraits will also be dedicated to his wife, in which she is depicted in the intimacy of the home, while she is busy with household chores. The open chromatic palette and the light inserts included in the creation of the sleeping space make it possible to temporally locate the action of the work at dawn. We can observe how the sun makes its presence felt on the colored bed linen, on the shelves with vessels or above a corner of the towel that specially decorates the wall. The stylistic expressiveness of the artist will draw its sap from realism and classicism, Nicolae Enea directing his attention also to decorative and expressionism. The rich colors, intricate models and abundance of decoration elements, especially traditional elements: pots, vessels, clay mugs, tables and sofas, colorful towels, or even the plant element - the flowerpot, strategically placed in the sun's light, on the windowsill, clearly indicate the artist's endowed with a fine sense of composition.
