The painting Mother and Child, with its intimate mood and subtly lit palette, clearly exhibits Mujadzic's stylistic transformation begun in the early 30s when he moved away from the plastic modeling of figures and "earthly" socially engaged plots. These expressive and stylistic determinants of his post-academic painting of Parisian and Zagreb provenance had already receded by the end of the 20s in the face of a flood of memories of a peaceful and actually happy childhood spent in Bosanska Gradiska. The scene on this painting, soaked in nostalgia and sensitivity, is a beautiful testament to Mujadžić's upcoming dedication to painting intimate scenes from everyday family life. The application of color is glaze-like, the light illuminating the face is gentle, and the dynamics of the composition are calming. In a word, a magical scene of unclouded happiness. In terms of artistry, it is executed at the highest level of refined painting tradition, based on the highest values of the past and on the positivist achievements of modern painting expression.
