Research information
The work depicts the daughter of Vlaho Bukovac, Jelica Bukovac (1897-1967). A version of the same work is inventoried in the raissonne catalog of Vera Kružić Uchytil. Both paintings were created in Prague during the Prague period (1903-1922) at the time of the First World War, in 1916. After the death of the artist, both works left the Bukovac estate and likely went to England from the possession.
