A representative of interwar Romanian painting, Theodor Pallady is the creator of a profound work, the intimacy of which can be penetrated with recollection and concentration. The universe of his art will encompass the sphere of the intimate environment, of a life full of meaning, tending towards arrangements that have an effect alien to opulent structures, thus configuring a world of spiritualized beauty. By approaching a reduced thematic number - landscapes, nudes, interiors, still life, self-portraits or flowers, the artist will enrich his creation with new emotions, displayed in the arrangement of objects, in the balance of shapes or in the rhythm of colours. Along with nudes, still life will form a consistent part of his work, being among the genres that will suit his spirit, giving him complete freedom in terms of construction and synthesis, as well as creating a new order and a complete balance. Although modest in nature, the objects of his props will be transfigured into a symphony of meanings, rhythms and colours, the real subject of an interior composition being his poetics, revealed through expressions, intensities and harmonies. Flowers are often noticed in the ambiance of static nature, in addition to the indispensable objects. Of different species and shades - tulips, chrysanthemums, crocus, viola, zinnia, elderflowers, daffodils - they will take part in creating complex compositions in which the everyday, the intimate and the familiar will reveal their mystery, transfiguring themselves.
