The work was part of the "Ștefan Luchian" retrospective exhibition, the Museum of Art of the People's Republic of Romania in Bucharest, 1957, catalog by Theodor Enescu, preface by Radu Bogdan, and it is mentioned at category 25, page 26, with the title "At the edge of the forest". The work is catalogued and reproduced in "Ștefan Luchian. Painting, pastel, watercolour, drawing", a critical catalog by Theodor Enescu, preface by Andrei Pleșu, the Institutul Cultural Român Publishing House, Bucharest, 2007 at category PI 75, page 95.

the historical collection of Alexandru Bogdan-Pitești; until 1964, part of the collection of dr. Ioan Dumitrescu-Popovici; during 1964-2004, included in the heritage of the National Museum of Art Romania; starting 2004, part of the collection of the Dumitrescu-Popovici heirs.
