Research information

The artwork was part of the "Urban Spirit" exhibition, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest, 2025.

I am Anca Toma (NoctisArt), an artist passionate about the manga/anime universe. I have experimented using various artistic mediums, and my favorites are acrylic colors and digital drawing. Currently, I am an illustrator, but also teach manga courses. The theme of the exhibition inspired me to create the work "Air". Being an atypical "canvas", I wanted to convey the impression of a larger space, reflecting a moment when an urban soul defies gravity, in the heart of the city. I have always been impressed by skaters and their courage to "fly" on these vividly colored boards, and now I am glad that I had the opportunity to illustrate one.
