Ion Mota was a legionary chieftain who participated as a volunteer in the Spanish Civil War on the side of General Franco's troops. Defeated in battle, he became a figure that legionary propaganda used to support his image. The volume was published after the he coming to power of the Legionaries in the autumn of 1940, with General Ion Antonescu.
