The two pillars of the Triple Alliance, the emperors of Germany and Austria-Hungary, were immortalized in this official propaganda photograph. The martial posture of the two, in military uniform, with decorations, wanted to convey a sense of power, confidence in victory and the solidity of an alliance that gathered around it and other states. On the reverse of the photograph is a handwritten note written in black ink, dated April 1915 and located Salzburg.
