gouache and ink on wax paper, 20 x 11 cm, 11x20, signed, dated and noted in ink, "Elisabette, 1899, Chaque chant sortant de mon coeur pur est à la louange de Dieu!"

The calendar for 1899 includes 8 sheets painted with flower bouquets, different for each month. Created in the form of a notebook, it begins with the first page of the title, decorated with field flowers, surrounded by the figure of 1899; the inside contains an apothegm of the Queen, handwritten and autographed, in French: "Chaque chant sortant de mon coeur pur est à la louange de Dieu!" (Each song that comes from my pure heart is a praise to God!). Each calendar page is painted in gouache, generously depicting floral motifs specific to the season of the month described. In the cartouche, the calendar indicates the holidays in red. The 14th of July is important, as a tribute to the National Day of France.
