Constantin Stere wrote about this collectible map, which appeared in several editions, in his book "Un caz de conştiinţă" (Buc, 1921): "... During the neutrality period, the first ethnographic map of Bessarabia, published by Alexe Nour, where, village by village, the nationality of Bessarabia inhabitants was indicated, and which brought to the forefront the pure Romanian character of this province. This map has seen only one day in the bookstore, then it was taken out of circulation..." The meaning of this map has also been highlighted by former Prime Minister Alexandru Marghiloman, who stated in 1924: "It was 1915. A professor, PhD Alexis Nour came to me [...] He had compiled an admirable map of Bessarabia, where in its most evocative form, using only Russian documents, he had managed to establish that Bessarabia had 2 million Moldovans compared to 85 thousand Russians and 210 thousand Ukrainians. This map has since been used on all the tables of the great European conferences, in all chancelleries and is the most thorough document for those who want to unravel the issue of nationality in Bessarabia." (L. Leoneanu, "Profiluri și opere contemporane," 1929, p. 83).
