Eugène Farochon, 1812-1871 was a French medallist and sculptor, professor at the School of Fine Arts, engraver who created the medals for the Paris Academy awards.
The heads bears the inscription "Romanian Union", and the tails "Elective Chamber of Moldavia of Mr. B. Sturza and A. Panu caimacams from 20 Oct. 1858 to 5 Jan. 1859. For the defence of national autonomy and dignity."
