The letter consists of two sheets of paper written on both sides and holographically signed by Queen Elisabeth of Romania. The letter contains news about her offspring, Princess Maria, and is dated the 27th of July 1873. The Queen's cypher, which decorated the first sheet, was cut off, probably in order to avoid the seizure of the document by the communist authorities.
