The documentary about the lives of Mihai Eminescu, Veronica Micle and Ion Creangă, as well as the friendship between them, was produced upon the initiative of literary historian Octav Minar, a fan, but also a controversial biographer of the national poet. The film was directed by Victor de Bon, a Romanian-born filmmaker living in France, and produced by the Pathe film studio in Paris. For the first time, the film was shown at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest in 1915, and enjoyed a good reception from the public and the press. The poster, printed in a limited amount of copies in the form of a large-sized colour lithograph, represents nowadays a rare and superb collection item.
