The icon represents the two archistrategos of the heavenly armies, represented standing on clouds. On the right, Archangel Michael, dressed as a soldier, holds the sword in hand. On the left, Archangel Gabriel holds a flower in his hand. The two angels hold together the Orb, a symbol of the Universe.
