The exemplar is part of the famous edition, chronologically first, of the national poet's work, supervised by Titu Maiorescu, leader of Junimea, whom Eminescu was a member of. Titu Maiorescu saved the poet's scattered manuscripts and published this edition at Socec publishing house in Bucharest, which started a long journey of critical reception of Eminescu's work. The exemplar contains Eminescu's portrait in the form of a heliogravure and Titu Maiorescu's published preface. The binding is of the period and shows signs of time. 8 pages are missing (pages from 241 to 256).
