The artistic style of Henry Mavrodin is located at the intersection between metaphysical painting and surrealism. His fantastic nature and abstract space, which at times references Salvador Dali or Francis Bacon, reveals him as a melancholic and imposing artist, on the borderline of clarity and spirituality. Enigmatic and hermetic, originating from his own utopian universe, Mavrodin's style reveals an infinite series of pictorial explorations, in which the figurative and abstract are juxtaposed. His work goes beyond the real plane; it swiftly crosses through the likely realm and finishes in a deployment of utopian forces. Existential norms will be only anecdotally related to the artist's linguistic scribbles. Mavrodin presents himself as an explorer of his own psychological universe, however, he does not hesitate to also seek inspiration from outside. He uses a limited number of objects, in direct proportion to the limited number of shades we find reflected in his palette. He relies on the poetic function of the human figure, even when capturing it sculpturally. The violin appears in his work, as an exponent of elegance and virtuosity. The multiplication, both in the case of the musical object and the sculpture, enhances the transfer of the vital breath to the common objects sketched on the canvas. Henry Mavrodin also excels in drawing, an area he pursues rigorously. His visionary lucidity and expressive tonal relations, supplemented by discrete lighting effects, reveal a new order of logical relationships, this time shrouded in mystery.
