Andrei Ciurdărescu's work recalls the exotic and lush atmosphere that probably existed in the Garden of Paradise. The garden is the perfect embodiment of the utopian idea of human control over nature, a space of tension between two major forces of creation: the creator and the creation which in turn becomes creative. Like a meticulous set designer, the painter meticulously arranges stones, rocks, majestic and delicate white lilies, illustrates carnal agave, the apparent neo-romantic wilderness, an image completed by the suggestion of the perfume of the lilies, the warmth of summer. A synaesthesia of human senses in a single image.
