With specialized studies at the "Institute of Art History" in Bucharest, which he graduated in 1955, followed by further studies in Siena and Perugia, Sabin Bălașa will prove to be a prolific artistic presence from the second half of the 20th century. From 1955 onwards, he stood out in state annuals, as well as in Romanian art events abroad: "World Youth Festival", 1955, Warsaw; "Youth Biennial", 1961, Paris; "International Painting Festival", 1970, Cagnes sur Mer; "Victory against Fascism", 1970, Warsaw and others. Swept by myths, mystery and the power of human creation, his art will orbit around the cosmos, evoked by the artist as an infinite reality. The cosmos, the place where he will place the actions of his compositions, will be dominated by blue, contemplated by the artist as the most distant of lights, conveying a sense of eternity. Around the cosmos the artist will dress universal themes in symbols, such as: peace, youth, motherhood, love, spring, homeland, life, death, or victory. (GM)
