The artist lays on the canvas the specters of his experiences, doubts or melancholies, the agony and ecstasy of his entire existence. The sources of his creations are divided between a well-defined cultural code and an intensely encoded spiritual acrostic. His work is at the intersection of the human with the divine and myth, so the artist constructs, almost iconographically, a well-established path for his protagonists. The painter uses his narrative vocation in the decontextualization of form and in enhancing the plastic language. He borrows from the particularities of truth omnipresence in immediate reality, from the characteristics of Byzantine art and the peculiarities of the classic or modern portrait, thus managing to preserve the prerogatives necessary to surpass the frame of emblematic figures. The physiognomy of his characters often appears submerged in a strong light, with speaking accents in various key points suggested by the artist. If generally we deal with characters of biblical inspiration and motifs with obvious religious referrals, this time we face a female nude, seen from behind, immersed in the white bedsheet that strongly contrasts with the reddish tones of the room. The sleeping nude becomes a lesson in the mastery of the artist's graphic style, dividing the canvas into distinct compositional notes.
