Fascinated by the dynamics unfolding among the communist blocks in the Bucharest neighbourhoods, Andrei Grigorescu populates the local urban landscapes with fantastic characters such as Godzilla or figures of creatures from a long-extinct species. Thus combining familiar images of contemporary reality with characters extracted from entirely disassociated contexts of time and space established by the construction of the former, the artist frees his imaginary baggage, developing new possible visual narratives. In the work "Unfair fight", Andrei Grigorescu draws a subtle parallel between the instinctive behaviour of animals, dinosaurs being the most powerful species in the food chain, and the hierarchical structures of humans in various social groups, where power relations are also based on primordial emotions. The artist's involvement in the street art and graffiti phenomenon is revealed in his works through the specificity of the chosen themes, closely related to the idea of neighborhood, community, and the relationship, most often tense, between characters.
